Wendy, 28, said she was not looking for love when she met her husband-to-be Brando, 30. “I was about to start law school and was completely focused on that,” she said. But to her surprise, one date turned into a five-year romance, and now they’re ready to live happily ever after together.
“Right when I met Brando, I knew he was the one for me,” Wendy said. “I never felt that way about anyone before.”
“When we first started dating, we were both busy students trying to maintain a long-distance relationship,” Wendy said. “So whenever we had the chance to get together we would try to make the most of it — like going to a baseball game, having drinks at Starbucks, going to the movies, strolling around Manhattan, and dining at a restaurant all within 12 hours! It was like five dates in one.”
Wendy and Brando were engaged exactly five years to the day they first talked. Wendy says it “was pure coincidence!”
Wendy said she knew a proposal was coming, but Brando totally caught her off guard. “My honey proposed with a light yellow pear cut diamond ring,” she said. “It is my dream ring! I did show it to him but had no clue that he bought it.”
Wendy said when she met Brando she didn’t play hard to get at all. “I was super nose-wide open,” she said.
“I know it [sounds] so cliché, but I knew he was ‘the one’ right when we met,” Wendy said.
To Wendy, the sexiest part of her husband’s body is “hands down, his mind.” She said, “I’m constantly intrigued by his intelligence.”
“I think he chose to marry me because we can be our silly-selves together,” Wendy said.
Brando said his favorite thing to do with his bride-to-be is just sit around and hang out. “She’s my best friend,” he said. “I love that she is a nice and caring person.”
The groom-to-be said he’s most looking forward to buying a house with his future wife one day.
Brando said he knew Wendy was “the one” the first day they met so he wasn’t nervous about the proposal at all. “I was just hoping the logistics worked out well and they did,” he said.
