After just two years of marriage, Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Kenya Moore and her husband Marc Daly are calling it quits.
The abrupt announcement was just days after the couple appeared on The Tamron Hall Show to discuss their IVF journey. Moore, who is currently filming season 12 of RHOA, released the following statement to People confirming the split.
“It is with profound sadness that I regret to inform my fans that I am divorcing my husband Marc Daly. Due to recent and ongoing circumstances, I can no longer continue in the marriage. My sole concern and focus is and will always be my daughter, Brooklyn, my miracle baby. She was made in love and true commitment. I ask for our privacy to be respected moving forward.”
Daly also released a statement to the magazine, saying:
“I have come to the difficult decision to separate from Kenya at this time. Our daughter has two parents that love her very much and in her best interests, this situation should remain as private as possible. I cherish our family’s good times together and will continue to co-parent in a loving way. Rumors, innuendo or false accusations only serve to hurt our family and will be addressed through counsel as the law permits. Please respect our privacy during this challenging period.”
Moore and Daly got hitched in June 2017 during a private St. Lucia wedding ceremony. The marriage news came as a shock to Moore’s fans and castmates at the time, given no one even knew she was dating or engaged. During the 2017 ESSENCE Festival, the reality star opened up about finding love in her ’40s. “You’ve seen me go through so many things,” she told the audience. “I’m on the show where I really felt in my quiet moments, ‘is it true what they’re saying? I can’t keep a man? I can’t find someone to really love me for me. Is it ever going to happen?’ I’m a 46-year-old woman. And I’m a Black woman. And so the statistics show that over 44% of us never get married, and that’s a real fact. So for me, I just kept the faith and just kept hoping and it just happened for me in a way I never expected it to. So it had to be God.”
After seeking fertility treatments, the couple welcomed their daughter, Brooklyn Doris Daly, in November 2018. Everything between the couple seemed to be on good terms, as Moore called Daly “the love of my life” while speaking with Hall.
So far, no details have been confirmed about the cause of the split. However, Moore and Daly did appear on an Instagram Live session earlier this week, where the new mom admitted that her husband was “not happy with me for posting a semi-nude picture of himself sleeping with the baby the other day.” The photo in question has since been deleted.
We wish Kenya and Marc the best in their co-parenting journey.
