To say that Kevin Hart has experienced a controversial few years would be an understatement. The Philadelphia native has been the subject of headlines over his past homophobic tweets, cheating scandals and the list goes on. Before 2019 comes to a close, the comedian plans to take a sobering look at his past choices – especially within his marriage to wife Eniko Hart.
In the 2-minute trailer for his new Netflix documentary Kevin Hart: Don’t F**k This Up, the Jumanji star gives his fans a raw look at his life behind the scenes. “Before people judge and say Kevin Hart is a dickhead and an asshole, I want you to understand that there’s a lot you don’t know,” he says in the opening scene.
Halfway through the teaser, an emotionally distressed Eniko (who was pregnant at the time of her husband’s cheating scandal) is heard confronting Kevin about his betrayal. “You publicly humiliated me,” says her voice over. “I just kept saying ‘How the f*** did you let that happen?'”
Back in October 2017, the comedian decided to come clean to his fans about an alleged extortion attempt that included a “sexually provocative” video of him with another woman. Hart apologized to a then-8-months pregnant Eniko as he admitted that someone was using the tapes and images to allegedly extort money from him.
“I’m guilty, regardless of how it happened and what was involved, the s–t that I can’t talk about, I’m guilty. I’m wrong,” he later told The Breakfast Club, adding that he was angered by people suggesting his cheating was Eniko’s karma for. “That title was put on her by my ex out of anger.”
It seems Hart plans to put it all on the table with this honest look at his personal life. The documentary is set to premiere on Dec. 27. Will you be watching?
