At the podium for Nipsey Hussle’s majestic celebration of life, his longtime girlfriend Lauren London said Thursday that “grief is the final act of love.” And she demonstrated that sentiment by getting a tattoo of her slain lover’s face on her forearm.
London unveiled the memorial ink on her Instagram page Thursday by posting a picture of her freshly tattooed arm.
In the caption for the image she wrote, “Real Love Never Dies. When you see me, you will always see him.”
Born Ermias Asghedom, Grammy-nominated rapper Nispsey Hussle was shot to death outside of his Marathon clothing store on March 31. He was 33.
The man, who London called “the love of my life,” was a father, philanthropist, community activist, and serial entrepreneur in addition to an artist.
He and London shared a child, 2-year-old Kross. He also had a beloved daughter, Emani, from a previous relationship, while she has a son, Kameron, whose father is Lil Wayne.
She finished the caption for the picture with the hashtags, “#LoveYouHussle #TMC, which stands for “The Marathon Continues,” a phrase that friends, family and fans have used to express their commitment to continuing Hussle’s mission.
London wasn’t the only one who memorialized her intention to keep running the marathon physically.
Fellow Los Angeles rapper The Game posted himself getting Hussle’s face tattooed on his chest on his Instagram story.
