LeBron James recently shared a moment of gratitude for his leading lady on Instagram, writing, “The only reason why I can do what I do at the highest level both on and off the floor is my because my best friend got my back regardless the outcome! I’m just the car, she’s the engine!” That “just because” type of appreciation hits different!

In honor of her 33rd birthday, James let the world know just how fortunate he is to have married a woman like Savannah. “Some got no luck and some got all the luck in the world. I definitely got lucky with you that for sure!,” he shared via Instagram.

Since Day 1
In a 2018 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, James admitted (as he often does) that he wouldn’t be the man he is today without Savannah. “We have been down since high school,” he said. “I listen to a lot of rap music, and a good friend of mine said, ‘You wasn’t with me shooting in the gym. But in all actuality, Savannah was with me shooting in the gym when I [had] absolutely nothing.”

One of the things LeBron loves most about his wife is her dedication to their family. “Me and my wife are different, but at the same time we’re the same,” the NBA champ told Vogue. “I’m gone a lot, so she is the boss of the household; she’s the rule-setter.”

In 2013, James was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the fourth time in five seasons. During his acceptance speech, he gave a special shoutout to his then-fiancee’ Savannah for holding down the fort. “To my wife-to-be, I want to thank you for the sacrifices you make every single day,” he told the crowd. “With me being a professional athlete and not being home every day or as much as you would like, I thank you for your support and what you do for our boys.”
