Gone are the days when “cheating” was only defined by sexual or emotional acts. Believe it or not, “Netflix cheating” is now a real thing too.
That’s right. Watching a bingeworthy TV series without your partner can definitely land you in the doghouse!
A new study from Netflix reveals that some couples consider “cheat watching” a sign of broken trust. Seriously, how could you?
According to the data collected, nearly half of streaming couples have “cheated” on their partner by watching shows without their better half by their side.
The U.S., Brazil and Mexico, round out the top of the cheaters list while the most faithful watch buddies reside in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland.
What are the guiltiest pleasures that cheaters are consumed with you might ask? Well it’s quite the obvious. Walking Dead takes the cake, with Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad, House of Cards and Marvel’s Daredevil following behind.
These cheating indulgences are no laughing matter either–with 55% of U.S. cheaters willing to indulge in dramas over comedies, the trigger to keep streaming comes from the uncontrollable desire to discover what’s going to happen next in the story line (damn you autoplay!)
Before you get down to business binging, make sure you and your partner are on the same page…or at least the same episode!
