“We come here with a phenomenal ability to do everything we dream we can do,” says Hunter. She obviously practices what she preaches, because not only was she a professor for many years, but she’s now a bishop, author, co-owner of a television station in South Africa and has just started her own publishing firm.

Wise words: “Teach people how to treat you. I celebrate myself, and am drawn to people who celebrate me.”
Currently she is the pastor and founder of The Baptist Worship Center in Philadelphia. “I started my church in my living room, with five people. We’ve grown to over 6,000 in 14 years.”
On her hair: “I thought about [coloring my hair] for about 30 seconds, when I was 29. Then I remembered that it’s better to appreciate and celebrate my uniqueness.”
