You know how it’s borderline impossible to find a single Black man on Tinder who hasn’t already dated at least one person you know? Well, new mobile dating app SoulSwipe wants to solve this problem for you. Are you ready to say “farewell” to endless swiping and “hello” to more date-worthy brothers near you? We thought so.
Affectionately known as “Black Tinder,” SoulSwipe was released in March 2015 and has over 70,000+ users across the United States.
That app brags that it’s the only location-based dating app committed to helping Black singles find lasting love, and it’s quickly expanding its reach. SoulSwipe just launched in Jamaica with plans for more international expansion in the coming months.
If you’re a regular on Tinder, you already know how to use this app. For those of you new to the app-dating game, this is all you need to know: SoulSwipe uses GPS technology to match African-American singles by location allowing them to simply swipe left to “pass” on a profile or swipe right to “like” one. If two users both swipe right on one another, they’re a “match” and are allowed to chat. Also, like Tinder, you’ll need a Facebook profile to join the fun, which means you’ll be a little less likely to find “catfish” in this pond. Good luck, girls!
