It’s official, Remy Ma and Papoose are the queen and king of Black Love.
With their new reality show “Remy & Papoose: Meet the Mackies,” airing on VH1, and a little “Golden Child” on the way, it’s safe to say that we can’t get enough of Remy Ma and hubby Papoose’s love. The two New York bred rappers have definitely been through it all from Remy’s 7-year prison sentence to a heartbreaking miscarriage, but despite the obstacles, their love has only grown stronger.

Recently the two lovebirds stopped by the ESSENCE Yes, Girl! podcast to catch us up on all the new blessings in their world. During the chat, Papoose shared the key to loving his wife through the ups and downs.
“I’ve learned that unity is everything. Communication is everything. You know, one of the things that was stripped away from us our right to actually interact with each other, physically. Even when I would go visit her, they would tell us put your hands on the table. So we couldn’t interact like the normal couple would, but one thing we always had was communication. And when she couldn’t call me on the phone we wrote letters to each other. We always talked.”
The doting husband and father-to-be also dropped a gem for the fellas on what it takes to truly love Black women that had us swooning.
“Ya’ll as women are so amazing, ya’ll have so many qualities but men don’t know. They don’t know. They think they have to go from woman to woman to woman just to satisfy themselves. Let me give you an example. A woman is more precious than a treasured black pearl buried deep within the ocean’s waters. The diver who discovers this example of art, wealth and beauty, is a happy, happy man. See gold and precious pearls exist, but the knowledge is not known to so many others because we don’t take the time to discover it. If you just take your time to be loyal, faithful and honest to your woman, you would realize she has so many qualities. You will never know a woman’s full potential if you don’t lead by example. If you let a woman know that you’re there for her – you’re gonna be loyal, you’re gonna be faithful – you’ll get that in return. I think so many men are discouraged, and they don’t have that confidence or that patience to figure that out.”
Remy is one lucky woman!
