Serena Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian’s daughter Olympia, 1, already has quite the colorful personality. Not only do the toddler and her babydoll have their own Instagram pages, but the mini boss also seems to be following in her mama’s champion footsteps.
Over the weekend, Serena posted a video of little Olympia playing with a few of her mom’s tennis rackets. You can see that baby Olympia knows her way around her mom’s gear closet as she can be seen in the video picking out her favorite choices.
Olympia’s natural connection to tennis shouldn’t come as a surprise for fans. On her HBO documentary Being Serena, Williams recalls finding out she was pregnant just before the 2017 Australia Open. “(I had) the fear that I can’t be the best mother and the best tennis player in the world,” Williams says.
Despite the shock and initial worry, she decided to play while six weeks pregnant (after getting the OK from her doctors.) Like a true champion, she ended up winning the tournament and making history.
Not only has Olympia been part of mom’s special victory while in the womb…Williams recently revealed that she hasn’t spent a single day away from her daughter since giving birth. “I’m a super hands-on mom. I am with her every day since she was born,” the 37-year-old told PEOPLE. “We haven’t spent a day apart. Despite my best efforts to be like, ‘Oh, I’ll take her with me’ … It’s been really trying. This is a whole new territory for me.”
