Listen up lovers! Stedman Graham is out here dropping relationships jewels and we’re very impressed with his love wisdom.
While promoting his new book, Identity Leadership: To Lead Others You Must First Lead Yourself, Graham stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Fun fact: he and Ellen are neighbors!). When questioned by host Ellen DeGeneres on how hard it might be to remain in a relationship with a megastar like Oprah Winfrey, Graham’s answer was flawless.
“The thing about our relationship is I want the best for her,” explained the 68-year-old author, who first met Winfrey in 1986 at a charity event. “So, I’m dedicated to her happiness, so that’s great for her and I want her to be the best she can possibly be and she’s done a pretty good job of doing it.”
“For me, I’ve been able to find my own happiness, and develop my own skills, my own talents, my own abilities—and I’m satisfied with that,” Graham continued. “So, the combination, when you have a good partner that’s able to self-actualize their potential and you’re able to self-actualize yours, one and one equals about six.”
Graham and DeGeneres also spoke about Winfrey’s once-rumored political aspirations. Though Winfrey has since denied having any intentions on running for President, Graham gave his full vote of confidence that his lady would make a great leader.
“You know, you can trust her, number one, she’s smart, she has a photographic memory, she works very, very had, so she has the qualifications to do it,” he told DeGeneres. “And she’s very successful.”
Indeed, she is.
