NBA halftime games mostly consist of kiss cam cuteness, halfcourt shot attempts or fun with the team mascot. Recently at the Philadephia 76ers game, California native Calel Fox decided to combine all three of those moments to surprise his now-fiancée, Tayla Peters, with a moment she’ll never forget.
According to ABC 6 News, the couple hit the court during the 76ers and the Denver Nuggets halftime game for what Peters thought would be a fun game but Fox had a bigger plan.
Playing a tag-team game at the free-throw line, Fox was preparing to propose while Peters was busy concentrating on making a basket. As she made her shot, she turned around to celebrate with Fox and that’s when she realized he was down on one knee.
Overcome with emotion, the newly-engaged bride-to-be knelt down before saying “yes” and embracing her fiancé in a big hug.
Aww!
The 76ers mascot, Franklin, helped to celebrate the couple’s engagement along with the crowd at the arena.
Talk about a proposal to remember—congratulations to the happy couple!
