Singer and Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star Brooke Valentine really knows how to put the “p” in privacy, as evidenced by the fact that she kept an entire pregnancy and the birth of her second child complete out of the spotlight.
On Mother’s Day, Valentine’s castmate and longtime love Marcus Black took to Instagram to share the news—the couple recently welcomed a baby girl!—and pay tribute to her devotion to their family.
“I went back and forth all day on whether or not I was gon post this but I mean… it’s Mother’s Day babe,” Black wrote in the caption of a photo of them posing together with a baby stroller. “I just can’t let the day end without publicly thanking you for our princess, I thank God for you and I’m excited about this new journey.”
The couple, who are rumored to be married, but have not yet confirmed, seem over the moon about their new bundle of joy.
“Through all the ups and downs, high risk appointments, hospital stays and life’s uncertainties you stayed solid,” Black continued. “You’ve always been ten toes down. I never had to question where you stood in my life. My plan is to multiply your investment in my purpose.”
The singer and Houston native, 34, is also a proud mom to son London, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hemiplegia shortly after birth. Valentine opened up to ESSENCE in 2012 about parenting her “tiny hero” and how it’s made her stronger.
“I know a lot of parents that actually keep their kids at home because they’re afraid to talk about it with their friends and family,” Valentine said back then. “I just want to be that voice that says it’s okay and we can make it through this. Our kids aren’t aliens. It just means you have to pay a little more attention to certain things, but they’re gonna be okay. We have to stand up and show other parents that it’s okay. It’s not going to go away any time soon, so we have to take it head on.”
New word yet on exactly when baby girl was born and what they named her, but congrats to the couple on their new bundle of joy.
