Now this is a miracle!
Today, a Texas woman named Thelma Chiaka gave birth to sextuplets – two sets of twin boys and one set of twin girls – in just nine minutes. The odds of carrying sextuplets is one in 4.7 billion, according to a press release issue from the Woman’s Hospital of Texas.
All of the children are in stable health, ranging from 12 ounces to two ounces, 14 pounds in size. As of Friday (March 15th), Chiaka had named her girls Zina and Zuriel. The names of the boys have not been announced just yet.
The babies will continue getting care at the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit until they’re cleared to go home. Chiaka ‘s team of doctors, Dr. Ziad Haidar, Dr. Sharmeel Khaira and Dr. Israel Simchowitz, say mom is healthy and on the mend. That’s one strong mama!
Congrats to the Chiaka family on their new family additions!
