Keeping with their modern day theme, the bride and groom opted for simple and clean wedding invitiations incorporating their navy blue and hot pink color scheme.
“I wanted to look sexy for my husband [and] the first thing I thought of was Hollywood,” April said of her wedding day hair style. “My fabulous hairstylist Senie Williams created an old Hollywood glam look with soft gorgeous curls pinned off to the side. “
“The feeling [of being a groom] was surreal,” said Erick. “It was what I dreamed of and more.”
“She carries herself with such respect and dignity,” says Erick as to what he loves most about April.
“[Being a bride] felt amazing,” said April. “Most of all because I had my best girls there to share in this special moment.”
April adorned gorgeous accesories on her wedding day rounding out her bridal look!
Erick describes April as being “beautiful, smart, and very fun.” The picture is proof!
“I tried on over 25 wedding dresses in different locations Chicago, Charlotte, and Detroit,” said April of her dress search experience. “The very first dress I tried is the one I feel in love with.”
“[He’s] a natural born leader; a trailblazer in every sense of the word,” said April of Erick.
“I continued to try on other dresses just to see if I could find a dress that would top the one I had already chosen in my heart,” added April. “I wore an YSA Makino Champaign Guipure lace mermaid with ruffled feather skirt from Dimitra’s Bridal Couture in Chicago.”
Before meeting Erick, April knew the guy for her was out there. “I prayed for true love and stayed faithful knowing that God would answer my prayers at the right moment. So every day I lived a life expectancy because I knew at the very right time and very right place I would meet my husband.”
“Looking into his eyes I knew that for the rest of my life this man will love me unconditionally and that his faith in us would never waver,” said April.
“I cried during our bride and groom first look photo session,” said April. “I became so emotional knowing that within the next 30 mins I would officially become Mrs. Lacey.”
It looks like someone was taking their role as a flowergirl very seriously!
“My father [walked me down the aisle],” said the new Mrs. “He was the first man that I loved so it was only right that he be the one to give me way.”
While waiting for April to approach him at the altar, Erick just kept thinking, “I’m going to try to be the best husband ever.”

April managed to keep her composure while at the altar. We get it, the day is very emotional!
“I wasn’t looking for a relationship or love, it just happened!,” says Erick of meeting April.

For their destination nuptials, April and Erick had 90 of their friends and family nearby to witness their entrance into wedded bliss.
During cocktail hour, guests could take in all of the Miami scenery of April and Erick’s big day.
Erick knew April was the one after the two took a trip together. Upon their return, he knew he had to make it official.
A spur of the moment road trip proved to April that Erick was the one and she will spend a lifetime never letting him go.
The couple couldn’t decide on one flavor for their wedding day so they picked four! Orange liqueur with icing swirled into rose patterns, amaretto, red velvet and marble. Yum!
Of course April and her dad shared a sweet moment on the dance floor.
During the toasts, Erick showed off some of his dance moves which became one of April’s favorite wedding memories.
Shortly after being introduced as husband and wife, April and Erick shared their first dance to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
