“When Chris was willing to relocate from Houston to Atlanta and leave a job he loved for me I knew he was The One,” says Daedrea. “I knew that he really loved me, and was willing to sacrifice for me.”
“I bought two pairs of shoes, blinged out heels and blinged out flats from an online boutique for my weddings,” says the bride. “My mother found my veil online as well. I got my earrings from Etsy.com and my bracelet was given to me by my husband as a wedding gift.”
Daedrea was concerned that her first dress pick was a champagne color, so she decided to use a second white dress for her ceremony and her first pick dress for the reception.
“I am actually not a big flower person, and often can’t tell the difference between different types of flowers,” Daedrea admits. “I cared more about the color of the flowers.”
“I know that the wedding is just one day, and the marriage is much more important, but it felt amazing to be a bride,” Daedrea admits. “It’s the one day in life where you feel so beautiful and special.”
“I chose radiant orchid as my wedding color, which is a pretty vibrant purple color, and wanted flowers in various colors of pink and purple,” says the bride. “My florist used an array of phalaenopsis orchids, mokara orchids, roses, hydrangea, spray roses, and stock lisianthus in various shades of purple and fuchsia to bring my vision to life.”
“Daedrea is exactly what I needed,” says Chris. “She’s beautiful, intelligent, caring, considerate, super patient (almost alarmingly so) and she’s got hips for days! Like I said: Everything I need. She truly makes me a better person.”
“My husband is God-fearing, loving, kind, considerate, responsible, intelligent, fun-loving, generous, and I could go on,” says Daedrea.
“He is literally is the one your parents always hoped you’d find,” the bride adds. “The one who will love me, cherish me and go through life supporting me as my partner.”
“I didn’t log onto a dating site looking for love, I simply wanted get my mind off of a previous guy that I was upset about,” says Daedrea. “At best, I thought I’d find a few distraction guys. But I can say that at that point in my life I was definitely open to finding love.” And so she did!
“She truly makes me feel like I am loved all the time,” says Chris. “I could never question it.”
“I was open to true love and I was blessed to receive it,” says Chris. “She is my true love because she made me put in the effort to see more into her than I ever have with anyone else. The deeper I looked, the more I was convinced.”
The bridesmaids dresses were designed by a company called Pretty Maids. “We found them at a local wedding shop in Atlanta called Ivory Bridal,” the bride shares. “I let my bridesmaids choose their own dresses and they selected this elegant strapless dress.
“Once I saw what colors the dress came in, and saw this beautiful purple color, I knew it would be perfect for my wedding,” Daedrea recalls.
“We had a budget, but we definitely surpassed it,” the bride shares. “We did not realize just how expensive the little details can become. Luckily, we had helped from both sets of our parents, but it was definitely an expensive venture.”
“My search for a venue was difficult,” the bride admits. “We knew we wanted to get married in Atlanta. I wanted a venue that would fit a ‘Diamonds and Pearls: Modern Glam’ theme, but that would also provide the perfect backdrop for beautiful wedding photos,’ she says.”Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, with all of its beautiful outdoor gardens and indoor ballroom was perfect.”
Gorgeous floral arrangements lined the ceremony space as guests arrived to support the bride and groom.
“It was a great day,” says Chris. “A day I will remember for the rest of my life.”
“I literally have the best dad in the world,” says Daedrea. “So there was no one else I would have wanted to give me away to my husband.” They walked to a mix of Des’Ree’s “Kissing You” from the Romeo and Juliet movie and Amel Larrieux’ “Makes Me Whole,” two of their favorite love songs.
“Her words and actions are a constant demonstration of how much she cares for me,” says the groom. “It’s amazing!”
I said yes because I knew that this was my happily ever after. The love God had promised me.
“She made all the right moves,” Chris tells us. “She said all the right things. She made it clear to me that living without her was going to be absolutely unacceptable, so I thought, what can I do to make sure I never lose her? Then I heard about this marriage thing. I was like, that’s for me! LOL”
“The theme for the wedding was ‘Diamonds and Pearls,” so as much as possible, we incorporated crystal bling and pearl accents into the décor of the wedding,” says the bride. Their reception space looked like a scene out of a fairytale.
The couple’s reception centerpieces were jaw-droppingly beautiful. To call them “lavish” just feels like an understatement.
The couple chose classic love jam “For You” by Kenny Lattimore for their first dance song.
“At the reception we had a DJ by the name of DJ Carver The Great who is really talented and a friend of the groom,” Daedrea explains. “We also had a photo booth, and the guests were lined up all night taking fun photos.”
