Actress Tichina Arnold and her new hubby Rico Hines tied the knot in a dreamy oceanfront ceremony in Hawaii on August 18, 2012. Hines, who is the men’s basketball assistant coach at St. John’s University, and Arnold exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Oasis Oceanfront Estate in Honolulu. It was a dream come true for the happy couple, who announced their engagement in March.
“The best part of the day was when Rico pledged his commitment to my daughter Alijah because I know that he will always be there for her as she grows and matures into a creative and talented woman,” says Arnold.
This is the second wedding for Arnold, who chose to skip a traditional wedding dress in favor of a fabulous champagne gown instead.
Seventy guests were present to witness the couple’s intimate vows. After the ceremony, an open bar provided by Voli Vodka kept the party going.
“We decided to forego lots of the traditional elements such as a wedding cake and a white dress for me,” says Arnold, who was determined to do thing her way. “We both wanted a wedding that was reflective of our personalities and our normal everyday lifestyles — and that is good friends, good food and good fun.” Thanks to celebrity wedding planner extraordinaire Diann Valentine, the happy couple had all of that and then some on their big day.
