One spring day When Kiara walked into the bank Malik worked in, she couldn’t find anyone to help her out. Frustrated, she saw Malik’s office door open, so she popped in asked, “Can you help me?” He welcomed her into his office and she took a seat. Of course they instantly connected and he wanted to get to know her more. “My initial thought was, she’s beautiful,” Malik recalls. They shared an awesome three=hour conversation that neither of them wanted to end, so they decided to grab lunch together. The rest, as they say, is history.
Never Too Much
“Malik actually proposed to me a couple of times,” Kiara shares. And she’s not kidding. The first time was in October of 2012 during the presidential election when they were both in Philadelphia working hard to ensure President Obama won a second term. Malik pulled Kiara close to him and said, “You’re going to be my wife. When are we getting married?” She blushed waved him away, but she knew then that he was very serious. Then on midnight on New Years Eve 2013 he surprise her by dropping on bended knee in their apartment and formally asking her to be his wife. “I was so caught up in the ball dropping on TV, and getting ready for a party we were going to that I hadn’t even noticed,” she recalls. “Once I realized what was happening, I joyfully and tearfully accepted.” So sweet! So the lovebird’s romantic big day and share their love.
