“Rahman surprised me on Christmas day 2015 with a trip for him and me to the Bahamas,” recalled the bride. “When we landed in Nassau, I could feel the electricity in the air. Our hotel was simply breathtaking and on our second day on the island, Rahman asked me to join him for a black-tie dinner that evening and I knew it would be a night to remember. We went for dinner at a gorgeous restaurant on the pier and underneath a luminous full moon, surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Bahamas, my love got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He said some of the most beautiful things to me that night and without hesitation, I said yes.”
“Wedding shopping was fun for me,” the bride recalled. “We planned our wedding in six months, so I didn’t have much time to shop. My maid of honor Nicole told me about a sample sale at this bridal shop called The Bridal Garden, the only non-for-profit bridal salon in NYC. I found my ball gown here for 50 percent off the retail price and I loved that the proceeds to my wedding dress went to help educate underprivileged children.”
“I wore a more traditional gown for the ceremony which was a sincerity ball gown. It made me feel like Cinderella,” Gina said of her bridal look. “The sleeveless bodice had a deep sweetheart neckline and was covered in Swarovski crystals and clear snowflake shaped jewels. The skirt on the gown was a beautiful full tulle with a long train. I loved it.”
“Jumping the broom was a tradition that was important to us to incorporate into our wedding,” said the bride. “The broom was covered in Swarovski crystals and was custom designed by the mothers of the bride and groom. We plan to keep it in a shadowbox and proudly display it in our dining room. We and are hopeful that our children will be able to use it in their weddings and we hope to keep it in the family for generations to come.”
“I knew Rahman was the one when we finally stopped playing around and got serious with one another,” Gina shared. “The love he has for me is unlike any love I’ve ever felt. When he hugs me, I feel butterfly’s, when he kisses me, I feel fireworks go off around me, God and everything around me has told me that he is my one.”
