Desron admitted that he thought Marie wouldn’t fall for him but he “knew she was the best thing that had ever happened to him, and would ever happen to him.” Keeper alert!

While Marie wasn’t big on the tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” she chose navy blue shoes to incorporate the colors of her wedding into her look.

Desron describes Marie as “everything [he] could imagine and more. Caring, passionate and overly sweet.”
Marie’s mother and mother-in-law both gave her diamonds and pearls as gifts for her wedding day.
“For my bouquet I chose white lilies as the main flower,” says Marie. “I wanted my bouquet to be mostly white with some accents of my wedding colors. I love lilies and they were being used for my centerpieces in a blood orange tone ,so I felt it tied in well with my bouquet.”
Desron gives his baby girl, Laila, a sweet kiss on the cheek. Cute overload!

Marie wore her hair in a simple updo so that, after tying the knot, she could dance the night away!
“I can truly say that I see life completely different and I enjoy it so much more because of Desron,” Marie says of loving her groom.
Marie admits she was a little choked up during the moment they swapped emotional vows, and who can blame her? Everything looked perfect.
When Marie and Desron met, she wasn’t looking for a man but Desron’s persistence and respect quickly won her over.
“My wedding day was better than I ever dreamt it could be. Whenever I think of it, I can’t help but smile,” the bride says.
Luckily, Marie found her dress during the first 20 minutes of her bridal appointment. After trying on several different styles, her mind kept wondering back to her first pick and that’s how she knew it was the perfect one for her big day.
Desron, Marie and their entire wedding party looked amazing from head to toe.
Marie chose dresses that would flatter all of her bridesmaids. Desron’s best man chose suits that were clean but fashion forward and on trend. Great picks, you two!
“He is always pushing and motivating me to be independent and to love myself,” the bride says. “The more confident and independent I become, it’s like the more attracted he is to me and I love that.”
The bride chose champagne colored dresses so that the colors of the bouquet would pop.
The reception center pieces included small and tall flower arrangements with vibrant blood orange lilies, orange roses, dark orange Gerber daisies, blood orange ranunculus, orange orchids, red roses, green viburnum and some natural green foliage to incorporate the colors from the wedding.
“Looking at him at the altar though, really made me feel like no one mattered. All my anxiety went away and I only saw him and that was home for me.”
Marie and Desron did most of the wedding planning on their own to ensure that their 185 guests were comfortable in enjoying their special day.
“My ultimate favorite wedding memory was the exchange of our vows during the ceremony. It was very meaningful to me and it literally felt like no one else mattered at that time.”
The couple had a modern spiritual ceremony that included elements that incorporated God into their ceremony and union.
Desron and Marie grew up practicing different religions but incorporated a God’s knot into their ceremony because they wanted to have God’s presence in their union.
The couple had a sand pouring ceremony to incorporate Desron’s daughter – Laila — into the ceremony.
Desron proposed to Marie before a Beyoncé concert! He liked it so he put a ring on it!

Desron said his favorite wedding memory was knowing that he was about to marry the most gorgeous bride he felt known to man.
While Desron and Marie both admit neither one of them was looking for love when they met, something clicked and it was nothing but the real thing from the beginning.
Marie said she feels safe with Desron becuase he is “a provider and is very protective which are two qualities that [she has] always wanted in a partner.”
Desron and Marie had the wedding they set out for–it was fun and full of so much love.
“I met her, and instantly knew this was more than a fad,” said Desron of Marie.
“I love the picture of Desron and I dancing during our first dance,” Marie said. “I love black and white pictures and although there guests all around, I love that the focus is on us because that’s how I felt that day. Although we had hundreds of people watching us, I didn’t see anyone but him.”
The groom said he “never actually dreamt about being married or actually getting married. On our wedding day, knowing that I would be married to Marie was nothing short of unimaginable.”
Desron and Marie shared a kiss during their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.”
Desron and Marie chose a delicious three layer cake with multiple flavors including chocolate, vanilla and coffee mocha!
We love that Desron and Marie used some snapshot’s from their engagement shoot into their wedding day.
The couple wanted a simple cake that was simple in decor but amazing in taste! With ivory sugar flowers and sugar pearls, it’s safe to say we think the mission was accomplished! Desron even got a groom’s cake.
