If you’re still wondering if those 2016 Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith divorce rumors are true, don’t. The Smith household is solid, and Pinkett-Smith says her family splitting up will never happen.
On Monday’s episode of Pinkett-Smith Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk, the actress sat down with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and good friend, Grammy award winner Toni Braxton, for a conversation on love, marriage and divorce. As the three women discussed their individual experiences with failed relationships and heartache, they were candid about the realities of marriage and how sometimes a happy marriage can still end in divorce. Both Banfield-Jones and Braxton have been divorced before, but for Pinkett-Smith said that for her, it’s absolutely not an option. Although Will and Pinkett-Smith have had a rather private relationship throughout the 20 years they’ve been together, they have revealed on the show that not every stage in their relationship is easy. While they clearly love each other deeply, marriage is hard work and it’s a partnership you both have to fully commit too. The parents of three have built an empire over the years centered around family and love, becoming one of Hollywood’s favorite couples. With all those years of hard work, partnering and building a life together, quite frankly Pinkett-Smith isn’t interested in letting all of that go, and destroying the life she’s helped to build. “One of the ideas for me is that we’ve built such a beautiful community, we’ve built such a beautiful family and our survival — we do well together,” she continued. “And then breaking that group and community up for me, it’s just never an option.”Pinkett-Smith shared. For Pinkett-Smith, her relationship with Smith is a precious gift that goes way deeper than love or romance. The two have been married since 1997 and their bond is a life partnership. “Partnering is a lot more than romance. It has a lot to do with survival, resources, and just having somebody or somebodies by you that can help you figure it out,” Pinkett-Smith expressed. But don’t be fooled by the class and grace of the Baltimore native when discussing her views on marriage and divorce. While she does love her some Will Smith if divorce was ever to actually become an option, Pinkett-Smith shared she isn’t “mature enough” for an amicable divorce and things can and will get ugly real quick! “Let me tell you, that’s when the red table turns upside down and it won’t be red no more!” Pinkett-Smith emphasized.
