Yung Miami of City Girls (real name Caresha Romeka Brownlee) shared some joyous news with the group’s fans last night – she’s pregnant with her second child! The child’s father is reportedly a producer named Southside who is part of the production team 808 Mafia.
The rapper, who is already the mother to a son, shared a glimpse of her growing baby bump while admitting that the decision to let the world in on her pregnancy was a tough one. “I’ve been going back and forth to share this moment with my fans,” Yung Miami wrote an Instagram photo of herself baring her belly in a sheer robe. “But on MY TERMS! I want this journey to be nothing but positive going forward and I wanted to share this with y’all. No one knows what is best for me but GOD, and this was just his timing for me.”
She goes on to say that the it’s been a tough journey holding down the duo and that many didn’t believe in her talent. “Everybody doubted me and said I shouldn’t be rapping and that I wouldn’t be able to hold the group down while JT was away but I did just that and then some, to the point that you all have made this experience as a rapper so fulfilling that I cannot wait to show more of what I really have in store for my fans. I did everything they said I couldn’t because that’s just the type of woman I am and going to continue to be.”
Overall, Miami says she’s excited to once again embark on the journey of motherhood. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and life-changing, so I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the City Girls! This is my personal life and it is what it is!”
A few hours before the announcement, Yung Miami shared a trailer for the upcoming City Girls documentary. The three-minute clip shows major moments throughout of the group’s meteoric rise over the last year and a half, including signing a deal with Capitol Records and JT gearing up to serve her time in prison.
