Bio: Jeannine Lee Lake is accustomed to covering news in her professional role as a journalist; these days, she’s making headlines as a congressional candidate in rural Indiana. The longtime resident of Muncie is a progressive who’s running against Republican Greg Pence; he’s the brother of Vice President Mike Pence. Lake is a community advocate who sits on local boards, including Big Brothers Big Sisters. As chairwoman of Feed My Sheep, she helped orchestrate delivery of 1,500 meals to the needy on Thanksgiving. A self-described Christian Democrat, Lake says that prayer is integral to her campaign.
