Visit a winery and ask about some timeless tastes that age wonderfully. Start collecting a few bottles that pair nicely with different foods and break out a good grape when you need it.
Sex in the City’s Carrie Bradshaw once said, “I like my money right where I can see it…hanging in my closet,” and the idea is genius. Treat yourself the dress you’ve been eyeing, or better yet, a divine pair of shoes. Purchase the perfect pump that’s timeless and classy that you can wear for years and years to come. Splurge if you can and give your closet a great new piece to hold on to.
Time to do something you’ve never done before but have always wanted to do. Always want to train for a marathon? Learn a new language? Walk with sharks? Do it! Take a leap of faith and check it off your bucket list. Just like a solo trip, it’ll teach you about your own strength and endurance and be a memory of something you did without having to depend on anyone but yourself.
Read a new book every week. Try different genres and authors. Scribble in the margins and highlight your favorite quotes. Cry and laugh. Scream and shout. Checkout book signings and live readings. Maybe you’ll discover a new favorite and go down the rabbit hole of wonderful reads.
Go back to school. That’s right, back to school. Get a masters degree or a PhD, Visit your local college and check out a class that you didn’t take while you were in school. Try an e-course or follow-up on a favorite class from the past. It’s never too late for some higher learning.
