The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has re-elected Cheryl Boone Isaacs as president. This will be her fourth and final one-year term.
According to Deadline, Isaacs ran unopposed and was voted in by the Academy’s Board of Directors. While this is Isaacs fourth term, this will be her 24th year as a governor representing the public relations branch. Over the last few years, Isaacs has made a commitment to bringing more diversity to the Oscars, stating, “We have a goal, and we are going to continue to work as hard as we can to meet that goal. In June, the Academy invited 683 prospective members to join, 41% were people of color and 46% were women.
