Every now and then, a kid with talent comes along, covers a popular song and shows that he or she can do more than sing backup in their shower. But it’s not often that you come across someone that gives the artist they’re imitating a run for their money.
Seventeen-year-old Libreville, Gabon resident Samuel (no last name given) recently posted a video of himself covering Celine Dion’s classic single, “The Power of Love.” Samuel reconstructed the near two-minute rendition of the Canadian singer’s Billboard hit in French and English while sitting on the staircase outside of his home.

Thanks to a friend of African blogger Barack Nyare Mba, Samuel’s video has garnered more than two million views on Facebook, and attracted the attention of music producers interested in the young singer. According to Mashable, the 17-year-old is shocked by his recent fame, and doesn’t quite know how to handle it all.
“Where I live in Libreville, people recognize me on the street and want to say hello,” he told Mashable France also known as France 24. “I absolutely do not know how to handle it.”
If Celine takes any interest in this budding talent, he’ll get used to the fame pretty quickly!
