Four African designer labels are looking for mass exposure at Fashion Week New York and presenting for the first time on U.S. soil at the ARISE Magazine African Collective Show, according to Reuters. The designers being featured are Xuly BQt from Mali, Tiffany Amber from Nigeria, Stoned Cherrie from South Africa, and Momo from Nigeria. These emerging design stars attribute a greater interest in Africa textiles and beadwork to the election of the first African-American President, Barack Obama. -QS
