Alicia Keys rocked a naturally stunning, no-make-up look during last week’s VMA show. But Twitter trolls and genuine haters weren’t supportive of the New York native’s decision to stunt au-naturale.
Far from flustered by digital whispers, Keys has taken her make-up-free look on the road making her first stop at the TODAY Show with Tamron Hall.
Keys’ effervescent glow looked absolutely flawless, but when social media questioned her “clean” look, husband Swizz Beats, quickly came to her defense, asking people, “Why are you mad at someone who decided not to put make-up on their face?”
Now, the Grammy award-winning singer is unapologetically standing up for her right to rock without foundation, concealer and blush by inspiring other celebrities to go make-up-free.

The global entertainer kicked off her no-make-up campaign Sept. 2 when she visited the TODAY Show to talk about new music, and of course, make-up. Ultimately, Keys’ confidence inspired Tamron Hall, Al Roker and Bill Bush to remove their daily face paint. “You don’t have to. It’s not for me, it’s for you,” Keys told TODAY hosts. In love with her look, Hall said, “I love the message. I love the idea.”
