Like many of us, actress and model Amber Rose has been hit hard by the tragic killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile—circumstances, she wrote in an instagram post, that remind her of the fears of raising a Black boy in America. Rose is the mother of Sebastian, her son with ex-husband, Wiz Khalifa.
Rose posted a photo of her adorable son on Instagram with a heartfelt caption saying: “I grabbed my baby and kissed him, hugged him, told him how beautiful his skin and hair is and let him know that one day he will be able to change the world and I will love him and accept him no matter what.”
Many celebrities have been posting their anguish on social media. Kim Kardashian-West also shared her worries over raising two Black babies in today’s climate.
Rose, who can now add talk show host to her resume, ended her post by connecting with other mothers: “I have my baby next to me and other women are losing their babies left and right…Alton and Philando were somebodies babies and they had babies themselves.”
