Actress and singer Antonique Smith has finally released a video for her retro-inspired first single, “Hold Up Wait a Minute (Woo Woo).”
The Notorious star enlisted the help of actor-director Larenz Tate for the video, shot in Los Angeles. Watch as Smith and her dancers bring tons of sass and sexiness to the set. Plus, there’s a cameo by Lance Gross.
Smith describes “Hold Up” as a “liberation song” and points to its universal appeal. “It’s time to take the power back for all the injustices in our lives – from Mike Brown to the kidnapping of innocent Nigerian girls and all the demoralizing issues in between,” she says. “This is an anthem for people worldwide that demand respect. Hold Up Wait A Minute!”
The single is the first single from Smith’s forthcoming debut album, Love is Everything (slated for a 2015 release).
