Aretha Franklin has canceled yet another show.
The Associated Press reports Friday, Franklin penned a letter to fans announcing that she would not be performing at the DTE Energy Music Theater in Michigan scheduled for July 27th.
This announcement came as a surprise to fans that were anticipating Franklin’s return to the stage in July.
The 71-year-old Queen of Soul was forced to cancel a series of shows in May and for the entire month of June to attend to treatment for an unspecified health illness.
In a letter written to her fans, Franklin regretfully apologizes writing, “I must cancel one last time my… concert July 27 (sic) due to my miscalculation of the end of my treatment. It would be totally disruptive to stop them now and go into concert with total success right at the door, 100 per cent.”
It is unclear how long Franklin will continue with ongoing treatments and be unable to perform. In her letter, Franklin insinuates that it may be another year before she graces the stage again. Franklin closes her letter writing, “I love you much more than the spoken word can tell. I’ll see you next summer.”
We wish Franklin a healthy and speedy recovery.
