Army Mom Preps to Leave Family for Basic Training

CNN highlighted a 20-year-old Black wife and mother who recently signed up for the army and is leaving her husband and 2-year-old daughter behind in Georgia for months of basic training in Missouri. When prospective army private Latricia Rose's husband Brandon was having a hard time finding work, she put off thoughts of a higher education to work and support her family. Now, like many other army enlistees, Latricia Rose is joining the army for the education opportunities.
