The late night talk show American’s loved 20 years ago, Arsenio Hall Show, has been abruptly cancelled by CBS in it’s first season back due to low ratings. The original NBC series that widely appealed to audiences in 1989 looking for fresher options late night TV options has failed to grab the attention of audiences today in a saturated market.
In a statement, Hall acknowledged that it would be a challenge to relaunch the show, but is “gratified for the year we’ve had and proud of the show we created,” he said.
The show has ended production and is currently in reruns, having aired the last original episode May 21. Kudos to Arsenio Hall for giving it another shot!
