“For me the most challenging thing when I first started working in television, was to reign it all in,” McDonald explains. “You still have to have, just as much emotion, just as much sense of character and truth and objective, but it has to be smaller.” When performing on screen, the former “Private Practice” actress learned she didn’t have to project the drama all the way back to the nosebleeds. Television provided a much closer audience.
