Leave it to Beyonce to always come out on top.
Just a day after releasing her surprise album, Beyonce, the songstress has gone number one in 25 of iTunes’ biggest markets, including the U.S. and Japan, reports Bloomberg. Three hours after it was released, the album had sold 80,000 copies and climbing. As of Saturday, it had sold 430,000 copies. The album currently sits at both number one (the explicit version) and number two (the family friendly version).
Though iTunes hasn’t released any new figures since, Billboard expects the album to be number one on it’s Billboard 200 charts next week.
Twitter announced that news of Beyonce’s new album generated more than 1.2 million tweets in 12 hours, with some 5,300 tweets per minutes.
Beyonce is currently wrapping up the U.S. leg of her “Mrs. Carter Tour.”
