The University of Warwick in Covent, United Kingdom is investigating a college student’s complaint that her roommate left bananas scrawled with racist graffiti in their living space, The Grio reports.

Faramade Ifaturoti, a 19 year-old biomedical science student at Warwick, says she came back to her room to find bananas with the words “monkey” as well as a racial slur inscribed. There was also, reportedly, a picture of Donald Trump placed on the fridge.

Though the university claimed it would further investigate the incident, Ifaturoti expressed disappointment in the school’s slow reaction stating, “I’m highly disappointed that it took a Twitter escalation in order for you to respond.”
Many students have rallied around Ifaturoti on social media using the hashtag #WeStandWithFara and have formed a petitionwith 1500 signatures, and counting, demanding action.

Student newspapers from across the UK are also banding together to run a national survey about racism in a “collaborative attempt” to see how often incidents like these happen on college campus and what action, if any, universities take.
