Earlier today, Bobbi Kristina Brown announced via Facebook that she and Nick Gordon are engaged.
“Yes, we me Nick are engaged,” wrote Brown. “I’m tired of hearing people say ‘eww you’re engaged to your brother or if Whitney was still alive would we be together or would she approve of this.’ Let me clear up something, we aren’t even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother.”
Brown continued her Facebook post by asking not to be judged by her relationship. “Pretty sure it’s my own decision who I want to be with,” she wrote. “Yes, my relationship may not be perfect. We will have rough patches, just like every other relationship. And we have had our rough patches. You may or may not agree with my relationship. You may or may not respect it. Judge me, go ahead. Your opinions are yours and mine are mine. It is my life and not yours. The decisions I make have nothing to do with you.”
The news comes as no surprise given their on-again-off-again romance. During the first season of their reality show with Lifetime, The Houstons: On Our Own, the couple announced their engagement. Before the show went on air, ESSENCE.com caught up with Pat Houston who claimed the two were just “friends” and weren’t engaged.
In November, Gordon cleared the air that the two were not dating or engaged. “Just close like we have always been,” he tweeted.
