Though Nick Gordon was found legally responsible earlier this month for the death of his girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown, the late Brown’s father Bobby Brown is still hoping criminal charges will also be filed against Gordon.
“I don’t know the specifics of what happened, but as the judge has said, he is legally responsible,” Brown says in a new interview with pastor T.D. Jakes, which is set to air on his talk show Wednesday. “I know some things that happened to my daughter, but it’s up to the D.A. now to do his job.”
Earlier this month, Gordon was found civilly liable in her death after he failed to appear in court twice in the wrongful death lawsuit filed by Brown’s conservators last year. Gordon has consistently denied having any involvement in his girlfriend’s death.

Brown, the 22-year-old daughter of Bobby and Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in the tub of her home on Jan. 31, 2015. She died the following July after being in a six-month long coma.
“My daughter was afraid of tubs because of what happened to her mom. So I know she wouldn’t have gotten in the tub,” says Brown. “I mean it’s crazy because the tub wasn’t even full of water. It had a dustpan in it, in the bottom of the tub.”
Gordon has never been criminally charged in Brown’s death, but Brown says he is waiting on the D.A. to do so. A source in the Fulton County District Attorney’s office previously told PEOPLE that the criminal investigation is “still ongoing.”
“Until then, just knowing that he’s legally responsible for my daughter’s death has given me a bit of calmness to waiting for that D.A.,” says Brown. “There’s a lot of strange things that will come out in the criminal charges against Nick.”
