We’ve been anxiously waiting to hear more about BET’s previously-announced New Edition biopic, and we’re excited to finally have more info.
‘Empire’s’ Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers and Bryshere ‘Yazz’ Gray Cover June Issue of ESSENCE
During its annual Upfront presentation, the network revealed the cast attached to the 3-night miniseries. Bryshere Y. Gray will play Michael Bivins, Luke James will play Johnny Gill, Keith Powers is Ronnie Devoe, Elijah Kelley will play Ricky Bell, Woody McClain is Bobby Brown, and Algee Smith is Ralph Tresvant. Members of New Edition will serve as consultants and executive producers. The group issued a statement about their excitement for the upcoming biopic, saying:
