Cardi B and Offset are getting ready to walk down the aisle.
On Friday evening the member of Migos surprised his chart-topping girlfriend by getting on one knee during Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia.
The “Bodak Yellow” star greeted the audience on stage when she turns around after he tapped her arm. Then Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, got down and presented a diamond ring to her. Nearly hysterical at first, Cardi —born Belcalis Almanzar— said “Yes” while the crowd screamed.
The couple began dating earlier this year and have openly supported one another through their career wins. Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” peaked to No. 1 on the Billboard Top 100 charts in September.
“It’s been a blessing, me meeting him and meeting his friends,” Cardi told The Fader about their relationship. “I see how hard they [Migos] work. And that motivated me to work even harder. And I see how good things are going for them and how popping it is to be number one. And I’m like, I want that. A lot of people just see they jewelry and they money, but I don’t think a lot of people see how hard they work for that shit every single day.”
The 25-year-old also showed off her pear-shaped diamond ring afterwards in a series of Instagram videos.
“Jesus Christ I’m so emotional, @offsetyrn I loveee you so much,” she says in an Instagram post of the ring. “Thank you for seeing the potential in me since you met me. For giving me advice, molding me and loving me. You’re such a amazing man to me. Your family, friends, kids and you are extremely talented. I can’t wait to spend FOREVAAAA with you. Lets make a lot shmoney and love together.”
Offset, who’s also 25 years old, alluded to wanting to marry her in a birthday post last month.
“Happy Birthday,” he begins. “You are amazing to me. You got it out da mudd. No Help. Nobody was believing at first but that made you go harder. You not weak, you take care of your whole family and me. Love you,” followed by four diamond ring emojis.
Congrats to the happy couple!
