New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony may take a break from the Big Apple. The 6’8″ player and his wife LaLa Velasquez have recently considered moving to New Jersey for a more spacious home and suburban neighborhood, TMZ reports.
Despite receiving a $65 million contract extension, sources close to Anthony said the NY Knicks star and his wife are tired of paying $30,000 each month for their apartment in Manhattan. Instead, the couple wants to find a more spacious home in a suburban neighborhood to raise their 3-year-old son.
And when he’s not searching for new real estate, the player is making amends with his recent career change. A former player for the Denver Nuggets, Anthony recently wrote a letter thanking Denver fans and the city for their support.
Just 10 days after switching to the New York Knicks, he wrote: “There are no words to express the gratitude and appreciation I have for Denver, the Nuggets and all the fans. You will always be a part of my heart.”
Congrats on the new team Carmelo and good luck with your move!
