Celebs Who Should Get Married
Intro and Lead Photo
There’s so much going on in the world of entertainment when it comes to love and marriage. If it isn’t for NBA baller Shannon Brown admitting that he and singer Monica jumped the broom in a private ceremony in November, it’s model Selita Ebanks accidentally mentioning that her bestie Serena Williams and rapper Common may be engaged. Considering how so many Black celebs walked down the aisle in 2010 (a positive example for Black love, if we may say so), we’re hoping a few more celebs would follow suit in 2011. Here’s our wishlist of long-term celebrity couples we wish would just go on ahead and get married!
Nelly and Ashanti
For a pair who still hasn’t technically confirmed their love since they were captured boo’d up onbeach in 2004, both Nelly,36, and Ashanti, 30, are always photographed looking way more than “just friends.” We have no idea why they won’t admit the obvious, but the rapper and singer need stop the fronting and just start planning the wedding.
Common and Serena Williams
So many ladies would like the sexy Common, 38, for ourselves, that it’s taken us a while to warm up to the idea of him being with tennis champ Serena Williams, 29. And just when we accepted how great the pair were, we heard of their untimely break up. The “breakup,”however didn’t keep them from being photographed out together or the recent rumor (accidentally leaked by Serena’ BFF Selita Ebanks) that Common liked it so much he put a ring on it. We’re keeping our eyes on these two.
LeBron James and Savannah Brinson
When Miami Heat baller LeBron James, 25, called his longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson, 24, his “sidekick" last year, women everywhere rolled their eyes. Considering Brinson is not only his high school sweetheart, but the mother of his two sons, it’s about time the pair walk down the aisle because "wife” sounds better than “sidekick” any day.
Regina King and Malcolm-Jamal Warner
Starlet Regina King, 40, not only graces our February cover, but also admits to a serious relationship with former Cosby Kid, Malclom-Jamal Warner,40. The two child stars, who have been dating since 2008, met in the late 80s and have very similar upbringings. C’mon Theo, she’s a catch!
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union need to get married like yesterday. With a dating history dripping in drama and scandal (thanks to Wade’s ex-wife Siovaughn calling Union a homewrecker), Wade, 27 and Union, 38, have managed to keep above the fray and have turned out to be one of our favorite celeb couples. We’re excited just thinking about the celeb-studded guest list.
Diddy and Cassie
Just like Ashanti and Nelly, both Diddy, 41, and Cassie, 23, will never confirm they are dating, but the paparazzi always seems to catch the pair together. From the tweets to the streets, people are talking about how even though Diddy is 18 years Cassie’s senior, he’d get a pass to just go on and rob the cradle and make the singer/model his “official girl.”
Keyshia Cole and Daniel Gibson
Luckily Keyshia and Daniel have already set the date for their wedding, and Keyshia has just two things on her wishlist: no drama, and a waterfall. We love it.
