ESPN reports the two engaged in an altercation outside their Florida home after Lozada found a receipt for condoms in Johnson’s Maserati. Johnson told police the head-butt was an accident. Lozada’s injuries sent her to the emergency room at West Side Regional Hospital where she was treated and released.
Johnson, on the other hand, was taken to Broward County Jail and appeared before a judge early this morning. His bond was set for $2,500. He is expected to post bail and be released from jail soon. The judge also forbade Johnson from having any contact with Lozada — which is common in domestic violence cases.
The Dolphins released a statement saying they are “aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering relevant information.” The team is set to practice this afternoon. There’s no word if Johnson will be released in time to participate.
The couple is slated to have their lavish wedding, which took place last month, air in a new reality series on VH1 in September. There’s no word if the network will go through with plans to air it.
