Both singers will take the stage to perform their respective hits and both are nominated for awards. Brown is up for three Grammys, including Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E. (Forgiving All My Enemies) while Rihanna is nominated for four Grammys, including Album of the Year for Loud.

Brown’s return to the Grammys hasn’t been easy. In the years since the 2009 assault, Brown threw a chair through a window of ABC, had several twitter rants resulting in the deletion of his Twitter account, and swore off interviews in 2012.
Although his return will be the topic of conversation, Rihanna has seemingly moved on from the incident. “It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know,” said Rihanna in a October 2011 interview with Esquire. “I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”

Most recently the former couple was spotted at the same Super Bowl party in Hollywood — separately of course — but still fueling rumors they’re allegedly considering reconciliation. Rihanna tweeted, “What a crazy night?!!” while Brown tweeted, “Can’t stop looking.”
