It’s been almost two years since Chrisette Michele released her last album. But the good news is she’s back, as the vocalist revealed that her hiatus is almost over.
In a recent interview with SoulCulture TV, Chrisette Michele said that her new album, titled Better, is finished and questions on how to market it are what caused the hold up.
“It doesn’t take a year to sing a song. Takes a year for people to figure out how to market it,” she said. “If you want to put out a song that you wrote yesterday, tomorrow go on Twitter, type in a new URL, and give it to the people!”
Michele said that Better will be more upbeat than her last three albums. “I’m in the same space that I was in right before I got signed, where I just wanted to play, go in the studio and have fun,” she said. “I’m finally interested in falling in love…so the sadness that you might’ve heard in the album that I just did before and the one before that isn’t there, this is a hopeful album.”
According to reports, Michele invested her personal money into the project and enjoyed having creative flexibility.
An official release date for the album has yet to be revealed, but fans can also look forward to Michele’s new mixtape An Audiovisual Presentation of Audrey Hepburn , which is scheduled to drop before the album.
