“I started to fall in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters,” Legend told Harper’s Bazaar in 2016. “She’s so good and she’s so clever. And I started to see that right away with her, and I was like, ‘Wow, she’s really impressive.'”
Chrissy revealed that falling in love and tying the knot wasn’t a dream for her but meeting John changed things. “The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on, then have them think, There’s so much more out there. I played it cool for a long time. Never once did I ask, ‘What are we?’ Marriage was never my goal, because I’ve never been very traditional. I was just happy to be with him.”
John and Chrissy tied the knot in Lake Cuomo in 2013. Today marks their third anniversary and Chrissy reflected on how special their big day was. “I just loved how everything turned out and I loved looking up at the lights. I think the dinner was my favorite part of the night and when we wove through everybody making our rounds.”
