Dwele’s new album Sketches of a Man has universal appeal.
“There’s a little something on the album for everyone and every occasion. There’s the BBQ song and the baby-making song. The title is just a collaboration of songs that make up who I am,” he said.
Dwele contemplates his music and career.
“I am happy with what I do and content with where I am. I have a lot more to accomplish, but I think that half the fun is getting to that space. I am enjoying the ride though, so I’m not complaining,” he said.
Ladies love Dwele’s smooth lyrics and tone, and he loves them right back.
“I like natural women who can be themselves. I also like a woman who has character and a sense of humor, that’s a necessity. And I like when a woman can laugh at my corny jokes,” he said.
Dwele’s cool exterior houses a rock star.
“I can be crazy and an entertainer. I do let my [inner] rock star go every now and then. That’s not something I really tapped into before I got into the industry,” he said. “But, when I am onstage I am another guy. I still surprise myself.”
