See what we’re chatting about over coffee:
• Amber Riley says her experience on Dancing with the Stars has taught her to push herself. “But it really has taught me that I can do more than I thought I could,” she told People. “Derek [Hough] keeps me from getting negative. When I get to that place, he’s good at redirecting me. Even in my everyday life, I can learn from that.” The fun of dancing every week seems to be putting a smile on Riley’s face. She said, “I don’t even think about [scores], especially when I’m on the dance floor.” [People]
• Retired NBA star Grant Hill has picked up another job. He will co-host the revival of NBA Inside Stuff beginning this fall. Hill, who played for 19 seasons, says he’s excited about reviving the weekly show about teams and players. He said it was a good idea to be “taking what was very, very successful and redoing it years later [is] very exciting.” [Grio]
• After seven seasons on Lifetime, Army Wives got the ax. The networked announced the cancelation yesterday. A two-hour special looking back on the seven seasons will air some time next year. One of the show’s stars, Ashanti, has yet to publicly discuss the cancelation. [Hollywood Reporter]
• After months of work, Halle Berry has finally gotten Senate Bill 606 signed into law. The new law prohibits photographers and the like from taking photos or recording voices of celebrity children without parental consent. If convicted, the photographer may face up to a year in prison and will be fined. “I started this fight with a great deal of hope and a bit of uncertainty so I cannot express my immense gratitude that Gov. Brown has recognized, and acted to remedy, the plight of children who are tormented because of the identity or prominence of their parents.” [E! Online]
