• Legendary hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte will be honored by BET with the “I Am Hip Hop” Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2013 Hip-Hop Awards. Lyte will be recognized for her 25-year career in the music business and for her philanthropy work. Among her many achievements include being the first female rapper to ever release a solo album. She’s been busy as of late producing a new BET reality show called Hip-Hop Sisters starring herself, Lady of Rage, Yo Yo, Smooth, Monie Love and Lil Mama. The awards are expected to take place on September 28th and will air on October 15th. [Vibe]
• More details are emerging about LeBron James and Savannah Brinson’s San Diego wedding over the weekend. The couple welcomed many stars to the three-day event, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z who performed “Crazy in Love” at the reception! James and Brinson have been dating for 12 years and got engaged on New Years 2012. [TMZ]
• Corbin Bleu says Dancing with the Stars rehearsals are getting rough. The High School Musical 2 actor hurt his thumb during the first round of practices. He also claims his partner, Karina Smirnoff, is a tough teacher. “We’ve decided that our team middle name is gonna be ‘One more time,'” said Bleu. “Because every single time we finish [the routine], one of us says, ‘No, no, no, one more time!'” [People]
• Christina Milian is playing coy about her engagement with rapper Jas Prince. The Dancing with the Stars contestant told People, “I’m definitely in love with someone.
