A biopic of ballerina may be in the works. Deadline reports that New Line Cinema has optioned a film about Copeland’s rise from living in a welfare motel with her mother to becoming the second African-American soloist to dance with the American Ballet Theatre. The film would be based on Copeland’s memoir, Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina. [Deadline]
Bad Boys fans will be happy to know that a third installment is in the works. During an appearance on Conan this week, Martin Lawrence said he’d spoken with director Jerry Bruckheimer. “He said it’s real, they’re working on a script, they’re close and it all looks good.” Bad Boys (1995)—and the sequel in 2003—starred Lawrence and Will Smith as detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowrey. Britain’s Oxford University Press has announced its new entries and “hot mess” leads the crowd, along with “Yolo,” “binge-watch,” and “live-tweet.” “These are words that are common enough that you are likely to encounter them, and may have to look up their meanings,” said Oxford Dictionaries editor Katherine Martin.
